Robert Upshaw will play collegiately at Fresno State.

Upshaw said it was a long-standing relationship with coach Rodney Terry that convinced him to sign with the Bulldogs.

''I sat down and really thought about it and I felt like me and Coach Terry's relationship the past four years has been something has been building,'' said Upshaw, who had narrowed his list to include Georgetown and Louisville. ''I didn't want to go to a school where I just barely met the coach.

''The real thing about it is I've had a relationship with Coach Terry that been lasting for the past four years and that's what really turned me on and I feel like I can make this program better as a player, as an individual.''

Robert Upshaw will announce where he intends to go to college on April 15.

"Only Robert knows," says his mother, Ceylon Sherman. "I don't even know, and my stomach is upset. I'm nervous."

Upshaw, a 7-foot, 270-pound center, initially signed scholarship papers with Kansas State, but withdrew his commitment when Wildcats coach Frank Martin left last month for South Carolina.

The top-60 recruit is reportedly considering Fresno State, Georgetown and Louisville.
